Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Mom obituary photocancer-ribbon

Everyone of us knows someone who has fought or survived breast cancer.  October is Breast Cancer Awareness month & everything is pink! During this month, people & organizations alike dedicate time & money to research, health awareness & building hope.  Innergypsy Design is proud to be doing the same!

I posted a few months ago about losing my own grandmother (Oma in dutch, as we’ll always remember her!) to a long battle with breast cancer.  I made a piece of jewellery (“Beloved”) for my mom to remember her & it was a huge success.

I’m pleased to offer this beautiful Sterling Silver necklace with Pink Tourmaline at a special price this month with 10% of proceeds going to the Canadian Breast Cancer Society.  I’m also offering free shipping into mid November (for my lack of posting this earlier)

“Beloved” is now available in 2 sizes, Large & Small, with or without a stone (Pink Tourmaline for breast cancer).  You can purchase by clicking here to connect to my etsy site or contacting me at innergypsydesign@gmail.com.

I’m so happy to be able to provide this opportunity to remember someone you’ve lost or to give a gift to a loved one fighting breast cancer.  We all need a little hope & gifts go a long way in offering our love & encouragement.

Innergypsy Design is also donating “Beloved” pieces to Brides for Breast Cancer & Chilliwack Hospice’s November Nights (where they took good care of my oma!)

*If you don’t have the funds to buy one of these pieces, you can always donate at anytime to the Canadian Breast Cancer Society, here.

ETSY!

Just a note to let you know that i’ve opened an etsy site featuring “Beloved” pieces for the month of October, Breast Cancer awareness month.  Free shipping is offered for October & 10% of all purchases going to the Canadian Breast Cancer Society (http://www.cbcf.org) Purchase them here:

i’m off to Taos, New Mexico for 2 weeks!  I’m going with a good friend, Brendalyn Avender (BPA Metalcraft) to study some more goldsmithing techniques. It’s going to be a great adventure, full of inspiration & creativity, just what i need this summer!

I will definitely post photos when i’m back & keep you all up to date on the new designs that are inspired over the next couple of months, thanks for sticking with me!

Innergypsy Design on Breakfast Television

In the wake of the networking excitement of VFW, I was given the opporunity to have my jewellery featured on Breakfast Television (a vancouver based program on City TV weekdays).  What a great opportunity, have a look at this video clip to see host Dawn Chubai wearing two original designs by Innergypsy Design.  Dawn is wearing a pair of statement earrings  & a new bracelet from the “plucked” series, they look great on her!

Click on the photo below for the video link posted on the BT website.  Scroll through videos until you find “Fashion Police – Part two”

VFW Day #1

I’ll quickly post about the opening gala of VFW last night.  It was the jewellery gala, we all got some wonderfully beautiful models to wear our jewellery & work the room.  & by room, i mean Leone’s department store with hundreds of people in attendance (include K-Os who i didn’t get a glimpse of).  It was a truly great experience to be among all these amazing fashionistas & media elites.  Overwhelming at times but great exposure for Innergypsy Design…its just the beginning of a great week to come.  Tonight i’ll be adorning Porscia’s clothing on the runway!!  Here are some shots of my wonderful models, Maddison & Natalie from last night…not only were they incredibly stunning but we had a lot of fun & they wore the jewellery well & presented it to different media, great job girls!

Photo Shoot!!

Last week i had the crazy notion that i could plan a photo shoot on top of 2 part time jobs & all my insane prep for Van Fashion Week.  In a matter of ten days or less, we pulled it off!  But not without the help of some talented (& not to mention patient) creative/beautiful individuals.

Stephen Hubbard photographed the 3 lovely models (Laura, Natasha & Brittany)  provided by JK Model Staffing. Plus we had two wonderful assistants, Jenn (owner of JK Models) & my dear friend Rachelle.  With clothing/jewellery styling  provided by yours truly, we had a very smooth day aside from the rain crashing my outdoor photo dreams (note to self, be realistic, its march in BC!)  Stephen had a great photo venue in the basement of Gracepoint Community Church, it was perfect!

Here are some amazing shots that Stephen was gracious enough to get ready for my press kits the next day.   Most are of my new line – “fused” – debuting at Vancovuer Fashion Week – contrast of silver contours & hand carved wood.   I’m very happy with how they turned out, stay tuned for more wonderful shots!
